Conor Lovett will headline off-Broadway's Title and Deed, a play written specifically for the actor by Will Eno. Directed by Judy Hegarty Lovett, performances begin May 8 at the Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at Signature Theatre’s Pershing Square Signature Center. Title and Deed is presented in association with Gare St Lazare Players Ireland. Opening night is set for May 20, with the production scheduled to play a limited engagement through June 3.
Title and Deed is the story of a nameless traveler from a far off place who searches for connection and solace in an unknown country. Title and Deed is a funny and sad meditation on mortality, loneliness, innocence, home, family, love, funerals, words and the world.
Lovett and Hegarty Lovett formed the Gare St Lazare Players Ireland in 1996, and are best known for their adaptation of Moby Dick as a solo performance with music. Lovett trained in Paris at the Ecole Jacques Lecoq and is renowned for his performances of Samuel Beckett’s prose.
